Texoma Mitigation & Investigation (T.M.I.) is a support initiative for criminal defense in local communities by licensed investigators in an effort to uncover compelling narratives through fact investigation to advocate for fair outcomes. This effort is designed to work with defense teams across Texas to build strong cases that protect clients rights and futures.

Mitigation is lacking in our communities
Mitigation efforts are about telling the story of the client beyond the charges. Criminal proceedings often lack essential context to a defendant's life and background. These efforts are tailored to humanize the case, provide context to the proceedings, in an effort to potentially lessen the blow of the penalty phase.
- Comprehensive Background Investigations: One of the pillar supports in this is through conducting comprehensive background and life history investigation. Life history investigations involve analyzing family dynamics, education, community ties, and mental health.
- Persuasive Mitigation Reports: Crafting the narratives that highlight the circumstances influencing one's actions is another valiant component in offering the court a deeper understanding.
- Advocate for Alternative Sentencing: By exploring and recommending rehabilitative options, you can provide the court with alternative choices to better it's community members.
- Duty of Defense: Defense teams have a responsibility to investigate and present mitigating evidence to provide a comprehensive understanding of the client, their life history and psychological makeup.

Defense investigation shouldn't only be available in the public defender's office
District Attorney Offices and Public Defender groups are afforded investigators on staff, full-time. However, plenty of criminal defendants are appointed attorneys that are outside of public defender groups, and they deserve the same access to resources in bettering their defense. Investigation efforts are meticulous and necessary to evaluate the facts from an alternative perspective outside that of the state. T.M.I.'s investigation efforts will be tailored to benefit and support the defense's strategy.

Licensed investigators are welcome to join our team, and are encouraged to reach out to see what kind of networking opportunities we can create, not just in our local communities, but across the State of Texas. T.M.I. is based in Wichita Falls, Texas and willing to provide service to defense teams all over the state.
